Song Titles and Lyrics: Nonsensical Non Word Songs!
Singing la la la, na na na, yeah yeah yeah, de de dum. If it isn't a word, it might be part of a song!
Today's song tittle game, suggested by Labyrinth, will utilize any song that has a non word in the title or lyrics.
This should be fun, crazy and absolutely nonsensical!
So let's have a good time coming up with those crazy non words that occur in some of our favorite songs.
Post the title to your song, a link to your favorite performer or performance, and please tell us what the non words are so we can listen for them.

“In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” has to be the classic for non-sensical non word songs.
From wiki:
“A commonly related story says that the song's title was originally “In The Garden Of Eden” but at one point in the course of rehearsing and recording, singer Doug Ingle got intoxicated and slurred the words, creating the mondegreen that stuck as the title. However, the liner notes on 'the best of' CD compilation state that drummer Ron Bushy was listening to the track through headphones, and couldn't clearly distinguish what Doug Ingle answered when Ron asked him for the title of the song (which was originally “In-The-Garden-Of-Eden”). An alternate explanation, as given in the liner notes of the 1995 re-release of the In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida album, is that Ingle was drunk and/or high when he first told Bushy the title, and Bushy wrote it down. Bushy then showed Ingle what he had written, and the slurred title stuck.”
Although, I've also heard DJ's over the years talking about the lyrics, claiming Ingle also had a speech impediment….turning “In the garden of eden” into well, the above song.

Who needs wings to fly?
Certainly not I.
I prefer to take upon the breeze.

Tiptoe through the skies.

This song's video is a parody of Dylan's “Subterranean Homesick Blues” segment of the film Dont Look Back. In the video, Yankovic stands in an alleyway holding cards with the palindromic lyrics (reads the same backward and forward), and also one saying “(Harmonica solo)” Actually it is better than most of Dylan's songs.

howza 'bout
“mairzy doats and dozy doats and litle lamzy divy a kidly divy too, wouldn't you?
which I learned much to my dismay when I was about 6 is the actual words are
mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat Ivy. A kid will eat ivy too, wouldn't you? It says that in the song
justbegintowrite (Ronda Miller) says…
Those were exactly the same lyrics I sang at that tender age. As a matter of fact your posting of the lyrics just now made me realize I've had it wrong all these years.
Neither of you were wrong to sing Mairzy Doats, as that is the name of the song. Just because they go on to say “Mares eat oats…” doesn't make “Mairzy doats…” any less a part of the actual lyrics as posted below:
mairzy doats
Merry Macs
- words and music by Milton Drake, AI Hoffman and Jerry Livingston
- featured by George Olsen and his Orchestra
I know a ditty nutty as a fruitcake
Goofy as a goon and silly as a loon
Some call it pretty, others call it crazy
But they all sing this tune:
Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?
Yes! Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?
If the words sound queer and funny to your ear, a little bit jumbled and jivey
Sing “Mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy”
Oh! Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you-oo?
A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?

pizza on the floor
left over from the night before

It's more the way Kenny can string-out a word into several syllables. He does it well in Summer tii-iii-ii-aiimmme.

Descendents - “Enjoy”
Flatulation punctuates the still night air
And I thank god you're here
I queefed - Enjoy
Make the most of my butt-toast
Enjoy my good friends - Enjoy
The laces of my shoes unlock the mystery
Come and share a treat with me
I can't recall the last time I washed my feet
We're in for a treat
Here's my shoes - Enjoy
And here's my socks - Enjoy
Make the most of my toe toast
Enjoy, my good friends - Enjoy
Flatulation punctuates the still night air
And I thank God you're here
I queefed - Enjoy
Smell my feces - Enjoy
Sniff my ass whilst I pass gas
Enjoy my good friends - Enjoy
(I counted 21 instances of flatulence during the song—and according to the lyrics sheet, “all farts on this record are real”)

There's one I remember from the 70s…Daddy Dewdrop, Chick a Boom:
Chick a boom, chick a boom, don't you just love it
Chick a boom, chick a boom, don't you just love it
Chick a boom, chick a boom, don't you just love it,
Chick a boom, chick a boom, boom, boom…
Don't really remember the rest of it, but it was about some weird dream the guy had…
And another one from the same time period was “Gimme Dat Ting”…

crazy, I love that song! It was redone a few years back by Bill Cosby of all people into a children's CD. One side is the alphabet song.
“Don't ya just love it!
Chicka Boom, chicka boom, chicka boom boom to boom!” :)
Oops, my bad! The other one I am familiar with is:
“Chicka chicka boom boom”…two very different, but great, songs.
