Who Do You Look Like?
My cousin and I were talking on the phone this evening and she mentioned that someone told her they thought my brother looked like Don Ameche.
Dio you remember him from years past?
After we finished laughing until our sides hurt we started talking about all of the different people we have been told we look like, or who people we know look like, and I thought this might be a fun, light hearted blog.
So be honest with us, who have you been told you look like? Do you agree?
I'll go first. My daughter is told she looks like Audrey Hepburn and Natalie Wood.

Just today I was telling my friend I'm staying with how much Billy Mays irritates you gnome!
Since I no longer look like myself, I can't answer that and have it make sense.
I've been told I have many of Liz Taylors features, also Vivian Leigh. On the other hand, when my hair is shorter and strawberry, I'm told I looked like a young Shirley McClain.
It depends a lot on whether I'm formal posing, or laughing and smiling.
I'm told I have a Julia Roberts smile..as in, not a lot there when silent, but a major break out in laugh smile that drags others into the moment.
Apple looks a lot like my daughter is many ways.

There is a list of about ten people I have been told I look like over the years. Let's see, start with Twiggy in my teens, then Stephanie Powers (remember her anyone?), Jackie Kennedy, Audrie Hepburn, Valerie Bertinelli, Geena Davis, Cher (during my very long hair days). Those have been a few of the main ones and it is odd because I don't think any of them look like each other, although they have a similar coloring or look.
Okay, your turn. I know susiecreamcheese is told she looks a great deal like Bonnie Raitt.
Now I have also been told by a very close friend that I remind her of a combination of Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett. I wasn't sure how to take that so I just shoved some chocolates in my mouth, wrapped my arms around myself, and pretended to be making out with myself.
The cousin I was having the conversation with is told she looks like Angie Dickenson and my sister looks like Martha Stewart. I actually have one friend who has never been told she looks like anyone else. Can you imagine!
Most recently my chldren have told me I look like - are you ready? Sarah Palin; but that is only because I have started wearing my hair up and wearing glasses because it is the Republican thing to do. :)

You look like Me?
I always pictured you as Maude (Beatrice Arthur).
You know, the outspoken, middle-aged, politically liberal woman, embracing the tenets of women's liberation, always voting for Democratic Party candidates, strongly supporting legal abortion, and advocating for civil rights and racial and gender equality.
On the TV show, her overbearing and sometimes domineering personality often got her into trouble when speaking out on these issues.
Yep, thats you… :)

In my younger days, I was often told that I looked like Alyssa Milano, who was also in her younger days at the time.
I didn't know who she was, so I looked her up. I was honestly startled at how similar we were in the upper part of the face. Not so much from the nose down.
The resemblance has faded a lot over the years. She's aging better than I am!

I once got mistaken for Brent Berry twice in one week by the same guy. He obviously felt like a real idiot that second time.
When I lived in California, I kept having people ask me if I was someone named 'Shimshai.' I had no idea who Shimshai was. Finally one of these people told me that he had a website with photos of himself on it. So I looked up the guy's website, and sure enough, I can see why people were mistaking me for him. Although, I must say, he doesn't dress a bit like me, nor does he keep his facial hair as short as I do.

When I was a little kid, my grandpa was a dead ringer for Harry Truman. Grandpa lived in KC and they were about the same age. Just for fun, grandpa started wearing glasses and hats and carrying a cane just like Harry. Walking down the street you could see people stop, turn around, look, point, and whisper to each other “Was that really President Truman?” Of course grandma didn't look anything like Bess, thank goodness.

I had a lady in a Chicago bar tell me I looked like Brett Favre. When I was younger my sister in law said that I looked Tom Cruise. An x-bro in law said I looked like Dobie Gillis. In college, my roommates thought I looked Barney Rubble. Someone often tells me I look their (fill in the blank). So I guess if you can imagine Tom Cruise, Favre, Dobie Gillis (young Bob Denver) and Barney Rubble all rolled into one–and some guy that I remind you of–-that's what I look like.

You guys are too much. I am in Indy this weekend with family and you all have us laughing like crazy!
Now I will be wandering around town looking for all of you and calling out your screen names. tange, your links where you look like my daughter are too fun and crazy!
I have to share this story: I dated a guy several years ago who was a dead ringer for Captain Kangeroo (okay, so I was in a dating one's uncle phase). So we would go places and we would act like he was Captain Kangeroo. It was amazing how many people would be total fools running up to us to try to get their picture taken with him. He got free meals in rests. etc. It was a very funny experience, but I moved on - left my Captain Kangeroo phase.
Keep sharing your fun stories - no, I am not the Ronda who lives at 1600, but I think I know her from a few years back.
