KU Film and Media Professor and Film Director, Kevin Willmott The weekend was bookended by screenings of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival selection "The Only Good Indian", Directed by Kevin WIllmott, Produced and Written by Tom Carmody. This story depicts the horror and resolution of the Native American boarding school experience through the eyes of a spirited escaped student, played by newcomer Winter Fox Frank and an ambitious Indian agent, played by Wes Studi.

“We were pleased to see such a great turnout – and aside from the interaction of mentor to student, a great number of contacts were made between the film makers who presented. It feels good to share stories, dreams, entertainment, education and food!” ~ Ric Averill, Film and Theatre Program Director
