FOP Range and “Adjacent” Property Owners
"Douglas County Commissioners are disputing claims made in a lawsuit that they “unreasonably and arbitrarily” approved a permit in October for a firing range at the Fraternal Order of Police lodge near Lone Star Lake." Read the rest of the story ... http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2012/jan...
It seems that, with the exception of Harry J Knoche, that the definition of "adjacent" is being stretched a bit.
Adjacent: Next to; adjoining. (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/adjacent)
Even the legal definition would make two of the property owners' claims tenuous.
Black's Law Dictionary, 6th Ed. defines ADJACENT: Lying near or close to; sometimes, contiguous; neighboring; not widely separated though not always touching.
Maybe the property owners are just hoping for a "Steve Glass type" buyout of their property. You remember. The one where the commissioners bought the property surrounding the proposed site of the homeless shelter, in order to approve variances to the covenants? http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2011/jul...
If you move near an airport, there will be planes flying overhead. If you move near a river, there will be floods. If you move near a shooting range, you will hear gun shots. The answer is simple: move.
Malik Obama Weds Third Wife
President Obama's brother, Malik Obama, 52, married his third wife, a 19 year old woman that is 33 years his junior according to an Associated Press Story.
Ecumenical Mosque
Park 51 developers have released an artist's rendition of the proposed New York Mosque to be built a few hundred feet from the site of the World Trade Center attack. The Lawrence Journal-World featured a story and picture of it on October 3, 2010.

The Muslim community has stated that the Mosque was not intended as a Victory Mosque and that it would be open to people of all faiths. The artistic rendering of the Mosque seems to support that very assertion. The ecumenical design appears to encompass many religions through the inclusion of religious symbols in the structural design. Those symbols have been defined in this outlined picture.

Discoveries thus far include: A Christian cross, two Jewish Stars of David, the Chinese Yin Yang, and the Melchizedek priesthood of the Church of Latter-Day Saints' rub el hisb. Just for fun, see what other symbols you can find embedded in the Not on Ground Zero, Not a Mosque, Not a Memorial, Won't Stand Out, Community Center.
Obama: Too Close to Ground Zero
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran spoke to the United Nations, Thursday (September 23, 2010). During the speech Ahmadinejad claimed that the September 11 attacks were staged by the United States.
According to CBS News, Ahmadinejad stated, "That some segments within the U.S. government orchestrated the attack to reverse the declining American economy and its grips on the Middle East in order also to save the Zionist regime. The majority of the American people as well as other nations and politicians agree with this view."
President Obama, in an interview with the BBC's Persian service, responded to Ahmadinejad's statements. Obama stated that the Iranian leader's speech was offensive, hateful, and defied common sense and basic decency.
Obama continued,"Particularly for him to make the statement here in Manhattan, just a little north of Ground Zero, where families lost their loved ones, people of all faiths, all ethnicities who see this as the seminal tragedy of this generation, for him to make a statement like that was inexcusable."
To paraphrase a famous quote of Michelle Obama's, "For the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm really proud of President Obama." It seems that Obama has finally chosen to defend the memory of those killed in the 911 attack on the United States. Can it be true? Has Obama finally decided to defend the sanctity of ground zero?
This appears to be a reverse of direction for Obama. It was just a little over a month ago, August 13th, when Associated Press reported that Obama, "forcefully endorsed building a mosque near ground zero, saying the country's founding principles demanded no less." He went on to say, "That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan..."
This map of Lower Manhattan shows the locations of:
- The World Trade Center, site of the 911 Islamic terrorist attack.
- The United Nations, site of Islamic Republic of Iran President Ahmadinejad's speech.
- 51 Park Place, proposed site of the Islamic Community Center and Mosque.

The United Nations, at 6.7 miles from Ground Zero, "just a little north of Ground Zero, where families lost their loved ones," is too close for Islamic Republic of Iran President Ahmadinejad's hate speech. Perhaps now, Obama will consider one-tenth mile too close to Ground Zero for a Mosque. A Mosque that will. most likely, be partially funded by Iran and other Muslim nations.
Once again, a tremendous quote, "Particularly for him to make the statement here in Manhattan, just a little north of Ground Zero, where families lost their loved ones, people of all faiths, all ethnicities who see this as the seminal tragedy of this generation, for him to make a statement like that was inexcusable."
Yeah, what the President said - only about the Cordoba Mosque Victory Mosque Ground Zero Mosque It's Not a Mosque Park 51 Community Center and Mosque. "Just a little north of Ground Zero ... inexcusable."
Islamic Tolerance - Keeping up with the Joneses
Pastor Terry Jones planned a Koran (Quran) burning on September 11th, the anniversary of Radical Islam attacks on America. He may have canceled the burning, or not. Either way, Islam - the religion of peace and tolerance - has already had zealots demonstrate their tolerance.
President Obama, General Petraeus, and Secretary of Defense Gates have all stated that Pastor Jones should abandon his planned Quran burning. They all cite the potential for increased risk of an Islamic backlash, a retaliation directly against US troops.
So when was the last Quran burning in America? It must have been just prior to September 11, 2001.
The One’s Birthday! Obama’s Hat Trick of Birthdays!
Today is the 49th birthday of the 44th President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama II.
Listen to Happy Birthday Barack!
Mistresses sometimes require their lovers to send family away
on special days in order to enjoy time with their true love.
Obama has probably done the same thing.
He will be spending his day with the one
he loves most and the one that loves him most - himself.
Created in my own image; and, it is good.
Happy Birthday to me!
Obama has a trifecta of birth certificates to prove that today is indeed his birthday.
Republic of Kenya Certified Copy of Registration of Birth
Coast Province General Hospital Certificate of Birth
Honolulu Hawaii Certification of Live Birth

Prediction: Media Reports Limbaugh called Obama ….
The President of the United States, Barack Obama, was a guest on The View Thursday, July 29, 2010. Barbara Walters asked the President, "...why don't you say 'I'm not a black president; I'm biracial.'?" President Obama, in part, stated, "...we are sort of a mongrel people."
A common definition of mongrel is "a dog of mixed or indeterminate breed."
A caller to the "The Rush Limbaugh Show", referencing Obama's comment on The View and one common definition of mongrel, asks the rhetorical question, "Is it safe now to say, 'The [S.O.B.] has to go?'" Listen to the call in its entirety.
Prediction: Before the next week's news cycle liberal bloggers, commentators, and newscasts will report that Rush Limbaugh called President Obama a "[S.O.B.]."

No Racism In TEA Party
In an interview Sunday morning on ABC's "This Week," Vice-President Joe Biden stated that the TEA party is not a racist movement. During the interview Biden said of the TEA party, "Very conservative, very different views on government and a whole lot of things. But it is not a racist organization." He went on to state that President Obama does not believe the movement to be racist either.
Putting a fine point on its anti-racist stance, The National Tea Party Federation expelled the Tea Party Express from membership. TEA Party Express spokesman Mark Williams, also ejected, had posted a controversial satirical letter to President Lincoln. An MSNBC Story reported that the TEA Party Express refused to rebuke Williams for his Open Letter To Lincoln.
President Obama and VP Biden have may have defused an unstable situation with their declaration. Regardless of their reasons for making the statements, it was the wise course of action.
The National Tea Party Federation has shown that racism, or the appearance of it, will not be tolerated within its ranks.
It reminds me of the time that the NAACP expelled one of its leaders for making racist remarks.
Tea Party Accuses NAACP of Bigotry; Asks IRS to Review Tax Exempt Status
The St. Louis Tea Party has responded to the NAACP's resolution accusing the Tea Party movement of promoting racism. They have approved the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition Resolution and sent it to the NAACP.
St. Louis Tea Party Coalition Resolution
July 12, 2010Whereas, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) was founded to advance the position of minority groups, and
Whereas a hallmark of the NAACP has been to do the important work of identifying and exposing remaining vestiges of racism and discrimination, and
Whereas the NAACP vocally stands against the discriminatory and harmful practice of labeling people with a broad brush, and
Whereas the NAACP decided to launch their 101st National Convention with a resolution condemning the Tea Party movement and labeling millions of their fellow Americans who subscribe to the movement as “racists”, and
Whereas the “Tea Party movement” is a label applied to patriotic Americans who have expressed their political free speech in the grand tradition of all that is American, that being the spirited expression of viewpoints in a 100% peaceful manner, and
Whereas, it is a hallmark of America that we settle our disputes civilly and avoid the gutter tactic of attempting to silence opponents by inflammatory name-calling, and Whereas the very term “racist” has diminished meaning due to its overuse by political partisans including members of the NAACP, and
Whereas, the NAACP had an opportunity to preserve some semblance of legitimacy by standing up for Ken Gladney, the victim of a vicious racist battery conducted by a black avowed communist, even labeling him an “Uncle Tom”, but chose instead to use the opportunity to mock the St. Louis Tea Party, and
Whereas, the NAACP has refused to denounce the New Black Panther’s call to murder white cops and their babies, and
Whereas, the NAACP does its entire membership a grave disservice by hypocritically engaging in the very conduct it purports to oppose,
Now therefore be it resolved that the St. Louis Tea Party condemns the NAACP for lowering itself to the dishonorable position of a partisan political attack dog organization, and,
Be it further resolved that the St. Louis Tea Party calls on similar organizations to join in unanimous condemnation of this despicable behavior, and
Be it further resolved that we demand that the NAACP withdrawal their bigoted, false and inflammatory resolution against the tea party for any further consideration, and
Be it further resolved that these organizations call on the Internal Revenue Service to evenly apply their standards and consider the tax-exempt status of the NAACP considering the degree to which they are engaging in habitual partisan political behavior.
Adopted unanimously, this day, July 12th, in the year of our Lord, 2010.
A copy of this resolution shall be sent immediately to the NAACP at: washingtonbureau@naacpnet.org
