Galctic Featuring Cyril Neville Of Funk Legends The Meters!!!! March 18 @ The Granada
If your familiar with modern funk than you have surely heard of Galactic they are renowned as one of the best in the genre and one of the leaders in the modern New Orleans funk scene and if you are a fan of the old school funk than youre most likely a fan of funk trail blazers The Meters. Well this spring Galactic will be touring/playing with Cyril Neville himself of the famed Meters. To those that don't know Cyril is not a member of Galactic and doesn't always play with them so this is not an easy show to catch. Galactic & Cyril along with supporting act Orgone will be tearing the roof off the Granada on Friday March 18th. If you are a fan of a good funkin check this show out as Galactic is as i said before one of the best of the best in the modern funk movement and for your enjoyment check out some of the Galactic and Meters videos:
Gonna be in town this year For NYE? Rage New Years With The Floozies @ The Bottleneck
Ladies and Gentlemen lets talk about The Floozies. Many of you have heard the name or at least seen it under the name of one of your favorite national headliners on a show flier but sadly not enough people have actually heard their brand off spontaneous dance floor anarchy. Made up of a sibling duo consisting of one on drums and the other looping keys,guitar and bass, The Floozies touch upon just about every dance party appropriate genre from eletcro to funk everything in between as well as interesting interpretations of some of your favorite songs of yesteryear. So if your looking for something to do on new years and a dance party is your kind of thing head to the Bottleneck to catch one of my personal local favorites throw it down! 2 Days Of Yonder Mountain String Band At Liberty Hall 11/12-11/13!!!!
If you're a fan of bluegrass or jam and you are not familiar with Yonder Mountain String Band I would strongly urge you to give them a listen they are becoming one of the most prevalent bands in the bluegrass/jamgrass scene and their yearly lawrence shows always receive large amounts of praise from the attendees. They will be doing a 2 night stay at Liberty Hall @ 644 Mass St. On November 12th and 13th.
