Inside the National Weather Center

Daphne Thompson has been the meteorologist education outreach coordinator at the National Weather Center for three years. So far, she estimates that she has provided tours to more than 8,000 people. She is married to Richard Thompson, a lead forecaster in the Storm Prediction Center. They met as students in the University of Oklahoma's School of Meteorology, which is located in the building that they work in today.

The National Weather Center opened in 2006 on a 22-acre site on the south campus of the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Okla.
