Let's see: The Police and the Firefighters are always squabbling about who has the most dangerous job so "they" can use the info during Union negotiations. Once, the two were in a Union together.....it's name was U.P.E.A.L (United Public Employee Association of Lawrence).; it was during the mid to late 1970's and was most short lived. Seems neither the Police nor the Firefighters wanted to be in a labor group that also included sanitation workers (as they too were members of U.P.E.A.L. ..... this group was during the rein of terror and ignorance of one Buford Watson, then city "manager".). Again, the squabble about who has the most dangerous job being an integral aspect as to the "divorce"; at least between the Police and the Firefighters.

Now, from what I can figure, Police show up AFTER something has happened and Firefighters show up right when something is happening. What am I missing here, if anything?

oletimer.....you a beer drinker are you? At any rate that's the way your post reads "content wise": You is a beer drinker.

Anyone trying to say the Police and Firefighters aren't constantly in a match of .....err....welll....ummmmm.....wits as to who has the "more dangerous job" has no clue what's going on right here in RiverCity.

They're the ones that compare danger size, not me. Read it and weep, oletimer.....you can go back to your cheap beer now.....
