My old flame from 20+ yrs. ago grew up in Kansas City, KS but his father had been a Ft. Riley soldier and his grandmother was still living in Junction City in the 1990s when we had a great Thanksgiving get together with his many family and friends. The stories Prof. Willmott tells are like the many I heard from my old flame. It definitely opened my eyes to the narratives that are reshaped by the privileged class (whites) then reconstructed to suit the needs of the privileged. No other group in America has experienced this obliteration and re-shaping of history to suit others except "birth" parents and adoptees.
