You mean 'opossums?'

According to the great Wiki:

"They are also commonly called possums, though that term technically refers to Australian fauna of the suborder Phalangeriformes."

Opossums (or possums) can do serious damage on a farm. Have you ever seen what one can do in a chicken coup? Like raccoons, they can choose to eat more than eggs. They will eat the chicken too, and typically they won't stop with just one.

"Opossums" are marsupials. They are the only marsupial indigenous to North America. They are a nuisance around farms and taste pretty good in a stew pot.

I wish they were harmless. They cause the deaths of many, many horses each year because of EPM, (EQUINE PROTOZOAL MYELOENCEPHALITIS). It's an awful degenerative illness contracted by horses from the feces of opossums when they ingest the protozoa present in the feces.
