I would be interested in hearing Rod's comments on why he was rarely in the office or came to work his last two years on the job. It wasn't because he had work related meetings, because he constantly failed to show for meetings or appearances while in office. He would call in at the last minute and make up an excuse why he couldn't be there. Or maybe he would tell us why he spent money on an unnecessary and unbudgeted program for employee health screenings (which the state already offered) while he was laying off people to cut his budget. Maybe it was because the person that got the six-figure contract was a personal friend from Leavenworth. And why did our state leadership tolerate it when everyone in Topeka knew it was going on? I would be much more interesting to hear about that.
