As temperatures soared into the 100s residents had many different approaches to deal with the heat.

Having to work around that hot blacktop would be bad enough.....
Imagine having to go into one of those green plasic port-a-johns!!
I wonder what the record hot/cold differential is for a given year. We had something like -18 degrees this winter, now 110. That's got to be close.
Run the garden hose on your air conditioner ( the part outside) It cleans off the dust and cools the freon at the same time.
