Public piano at Signs of Life gives Lawrence musicians outlet for expression

Owner Clay Belcher wanted Signs of Life Bookstore, 722 Mass., to be a gathering place for the Lawrence community, so he bought an antique Steinway piano (that may not always be in tune) and lets local musicians use it anytime during store hours. Mike Miravalle is one of many musicians who frequents Signs of Life to play. Miravalle used to play professionally on cruise ships, and uses the piano a few times a week after work.
