KU Rock Climbing Club uses KU's campus trees as arena for fun
Carol Fittell, KU senior from Lawrence, demonstrates how to set up a slackline. You may have seen Fittell, who is also the vice president of the KU Rock Climbing Club, and others practicing this balancing sport on the KU campus. Slacklining is different from walking on tightropes or wires in that a slackline gives horizontally and vertically, forcing the person on the line to maintain multi-direcitonal balance. Fittell said the trees on Jayhawk Boulevard provide good spots to practice — like in front of Stauffer-Flint Hall and west of Budig Hall.
