Kansas Day celebrated with song and a baking lesson

Second-graders at Broken Arrow Elementary School went back to pioneer times to celebrate the state's 149th birthday. The students dressed up for the occasion, and then went to work churning butter and baking bread.

Then after that we gathered 'round the map and pretended to close neighborhood schoools. Good times.

Yay! We did this when I went to Broken Arrow. I still remember the delicious smell of the baking bread.
