Activists rally for wetlands on KU campus

Local activists hoping to help save the Baker wetlands from South Lawrence Trafficway construction were on KU's campus Monday. They were asking for students and other concerned individuals to sign a petition.

Enough is enough! These kids will be long gone doctoring & suing & engineering in far away places long before they finish the thing. Frankly most of them really have no idea what they are picketing for. Let me help them out. They are trying to save a manmade swamp, nothing more nothing less. There is nothing endangered nor is it sacred. Clinton lake & wildlife refuge has thousands of acres of wetlands less than 5 miles from here. My advice, get the facts then proudly hoist a sign that says "Pave The Wetlands"!!!

Why recruit on campus? They only are here part time. They should have no say so in the events that happen in Lawrence. Actually I know why, because they cannot get support from the locals who live here full time and know we need it. Utilizing the squeaky wheel of the brainwashed sheeple up on campus.
