City crews preparing for winter storm
Street crews in Lawrence are preparing for the worst the winter storm could bring. Employees are planning to work 12-hour shifts to ensure the roads are clear and will be working as long as necessary.
Naked man enters maintenance shop
Police are still trying to determine what happened Wednesday morning that had a naked man, with an injured leg, walk into a maintenance shop in Lawrence. The incident occurred just after 7 a.m.
Troopers urge safety in winter driving
With a winter storm heading into the area, Highway Patrol troopers are asking drivers to take the necessary precautions. Give yourself extra time and space when driving in winter storm conditions.
Woman released after rollover accident
A woman injured in a rollover accident Tuesday night was released from the hospital. The woman ran a stop sign and rolled her vehicle.
Kids arrested for multiple auto burglaries
Three juveniles were arrested Wednesday morning after being connected to as many as five auto burglaries in the area. The youths were also charged with breaking curfew.
State considering raising cigarette tax
A tax increase on cigarettes is currently being considered in the state of Kansas. The increase in revenue could help fill holes in the state budget.
Teen drivers racing to DMV
Teen drivers are looking to avoid restrictions going into effect in January. The Department of Motor Vehicles has seen a 50 percent increase in the number of teens coming through the doors.
Local organization providing new programs
A local organization providing in-home care is now offering two more programs. The programs include social networking and daycare for those with developmental disabilities.
