After learning what a d***head this guy is (a gazillion former employees can't be all wrong), I will never set foot in the place again, even if his dough is anointed by St. Anthony—patron saint of pizzas.
I loathe people who do not treat their help right. There is nothing worse than a proprietor or businessman who shows one face (friendly and obsequious) to the public and another (ugly and parsimonious) to his staff. They should all be outed. Glad this one was.

I agree. Treat your employees better, or at least pay them because when they're pissed, the pizza SUCKS. I can personally attest to that since the last two times I ordered (the last couple weeks before the place got shut down) I got crappy, burnt 'za. If you can do that, I can't wait to get that Keno's fix!

I won't eat there because of the employees with dirty hair and fingernails. I figure if their fingernails and hair is dirty they for sure don't wash their hand after using the restroom. walked right past it for lunch today. Although, to be fair, I would come in one more time, but it the help is dirty I am gone for good.

Greg, I only ate at your pizzaria once, and here are the reasons:
1.) Girl behind counter said she couldn't serve my beer and would have to have someone of age to do so. No problem. However, she poured a beer for the next customer, then poured my beer and set it on the counter, yet never told me it was ready.
2.) Since it was my first time, and I was ordering for my young son, I asked about the kids pizza deal. The girl behind the counter explained all about it, and we ordered what she stated. However, that order never made it to the cooks until all of our other orders were served. We had to sit and wait while my son ate his meal, as everyone else was already done.
3.) The kids liked their pizzas, but the one my wife and I had was terrible. The crust was ok, but the sauce, toppings, and cheese all tasted like they were well past their prime. Terrible, terrible pizza.
4.) Dirty, filthy, disgusting employees. Dirty, filthy, disgusting dining area.
Had the kids not begged to go there, I would not have eaten there based on the bad reputation your business has come to have. My kids are now banned from eating there because of the filth.
However, I do wish you the best of luck as I personally have nothing against you. If you can get this place cleaned up, hire clean and competent employees, get fresh produce, meats and dairy, and make a respectable pizza, I will give you another try. From what I understand, you used to make the best pizza for many miles around. Make Lawrence proud, provide a good place to eat (God knows we need some, Lawrence eateries just suck hard for the most part, i.e. 99%), and you'll never have tax problems again.

Greg, take note, friend - lots and lots of people love your shop. But seriously, can you clean the damn space once in a while?
And stop hiring only the most sullen, pi$$ed off employees.

we were very happy eating there the first weekend, going back in a few days!
employees were friendly and did their jobs well.
only [very minor] complaint about our pizza was the toppings were a little sparce compared to before. told them, I'm sure he's already fixed that.
I'm delighted papakeno's is back!
***
and, if he is boycotted, he can't pay his employees…it does take a cash flow!
so many in lawrence like to feel morally superior. how many who are 'boycotting' didn't go in much before anyway?
***
hang in their Papa.
