Weather causes pile-up on turnpike
At the scene of an accident Tuesday morning that involved more than a dozen vehicles, Ted Bergkamp, of Mount Hope, describes how his Corvette hit the concrete barrier as he was approaching Lawrence. "After that it was just a whiteout," he said, at the accident site west of the turnpike's Lecompton interchange. "Once one car started spinning and hit another, it was just a chain reaction."
