River City Weekly
River City Weekly looks at the history of mining in southeast Kansas, resultant problems like toxic waste and water pollution, and the plight of the mining community Treece. Guests include Jim McCauley, a geologist with the Kansas Geological survey; Dave Drake, project manager, Superfun, EPA Region 7; and Doug Gatewood, Kansas state representative from Columbus. The episode focuses as well on the effects of mining on Galena and cleanup efforts.
