Bond set at $500,000 for man accused in brutal attack on bike path
Yea, you are probably right. When these meth addicts are released the police should drive them to Charles Branson's neighborhood and release them there instead of downtown. Let these scum congregate in his neighborhood as well as the neighborhoods of the people that work for him. Things have to change as we can't continue to coddle these dirtbags and expect different results. Why do these undesirables land in Lawrence - because we don't do anything to move them along.

$18M expansion of library would add space, parking, other features
This has become a hangout for the homeless dirtbag scum that congregate downtown. Tear this old relic down and digitize all of its contents and make it available online. Paper books are going the way of carbon paper and typewriters. Lets not put $18m of hard earned tax dollars into a bygone era. Take the $18m and give everyone who makes under $30,000 a year a netbook (if they want it) and give them a free hotspot and and they can download all of the library materials they want free of charge as members of a virtual library. The $18m turns into $5m and we enter a new era. Glory be! Start thinking in new ways or you will be destined to ruin.

Perkins: Big 12’s 10 ‘in here for the long haul’
Uncle Fester laughs all the way bank as he had nothing to do with holding this conference together. What a pile of BS from this shyster.

Lawrence police officers and Douglas County sheriff deputies detain a suspect in a stabbing incident
Homeless street urchins that bums money down on Mass Street no doubt (for his drug money). Lawrence PD needs to get a WHOLE lot tougher on this scum in downtown and move them along to somewhere where they desired! Boulder, CO comes to mind! If not, your daughters may be at risk of getting attacked by this type of scum. Move them along Lawrence PD, move them along!

I like the comment of sending this scum to Utah and having his testicles shot off in a firing squad. The Lawrence Police need to get a lot tougher on this type of scum in our town and run them off to place less desirable. Columbia, MO sounds like a good place for these homeless street urchins that panhandle their drug money on Mass St.. to congregate. Back in the 1930's police moved these shiftless worthless pieces of monkey vomit on to other communities. I think it is time to bring these policies back instead of Lawrence welcoming this type of scumbag into our community to victimize innocent people. What do you think? Break out the nightsticks Lawrence PD and get to work!!!!!!

Man accused of violent sexual assault on bike path may have been involved in two earlier attacks
These two young men are truly heroes! Way to go guys. Who are the ultimate goats in this story! The powers to be that run this stupid town. Get rid of the street urchins that roam this town and camp on the river and bum money down on Mass Street. This scum need to be run out of this town and forced to go somewhere else (Topeka or KC would be preferable). The Lawrence Police coddle these urchins as they harrass people downtown. The homeless in this town are by and large drunkards, druggies or just lazy bums. Run them out of town like they did back in the 1930s and let them go find victims in other communities that allow this scum to congregate amonst good people. People who are poor but want to work are not in this group but if people refuse to take responsibility and choose to make a living by harrassing people on Mass Street by panhandling then get the hell out of this town and go somewhere more fitting for your type (California comes to mind).

Philbert, not the point - without Lew they may have went bankrupt two years earlier! How many more little "deals" has Lew put together for him and his family. We will probably never know.

Mangino must be laughing all the way to the bank (and to Florida!) Of course, we know that Mangino was never a recipient of any exercise equipment - instant doughnut maker maybe, treadmill, no way!

Can you spell quid pro quo? Hope the Feds are firing up their investigators as well as a prison cell. This guy (who killed football at Wichita State - yeah, remember that!) has been most destructive to our program. Have there een good times under his watch (yes!) but the bad far outweighs the good. And on the day that our conference is impoding - ARMAGEDDON for our Athletic department. Honesty and integrity are out the window!
