Area receives up to 7 inches of snow in overnight winter storm
LG40 - cop a clue and understand the diff between weather and climate. You can go back to Fox News now since they are apparently your source for science information.

Letter: Fair share
Because they have convinced you that the poor are the problem not the greedy 1%.

Letter: Fair share
Typical Faux News watcher response. If you tax the job creators they will stop creating new jobs. How has that been working over the last ten years? The rich have gotten richer and the middle class is vanishing before our very eyes but the think tanks have convinced us, through their media mouthpieces, that the poor are the problem. When did the war on poverty turn into this crap. Oh yeah, about the year 2000 when someone stole the Whitehouse.

Editorial: Step aside
Yeah, we know what happened under the previous administration. Cut taxes and spend like no tomorrow and then blame it all on the new guy as the economy slips over the edge. How did all that work out for you? Obama has kept our shaky economy afloat under a very difficult set of circumstances with a do nothing Congress. Actually going over the cliff would probably be a good thing with all of the necessary military cuts on the table.

Large apartment complex surrounded by new nine-hole golf course proposed for northwest Lawrence
I lived at "The Links" in Ft. Smith, AR back in the mid 90's and it was awesome. Didn't have to use my driver and could play all the golf I wanted to. Luckily I had an outfacing apartment so no broken windows. This will be a good thing for Lawrence.

Lawrence city commissioners set one-year deadline for trash task force to make recommendations
Amen! We need to keep these jobs in Lawrence. The day of the big storm my trash folks were here early as I was digging my driveway out. I would gladly pay more to keep the city workers on the payroll versus letting private industry bend us over in the long run. If we are going to privatize our trash service maybe we better privatize our local politicians as well. Maybe outsource these bums for a better return on our dollar than we are getting now!!!

Borders store in downtown Lawrence to close by end of April as part of bankruptcy; 27 to lose jobs
Last five books I have bought have been on my Kindle - sorry to see these guys close but kind of like the buggy
whip store closing in 1920. I hope the Raven can hang on but people are buying their books online and getting them cheaper and faster and not cluttering up their abode in doing so. Sign of the times - I'm afarid.

Woman taken to hospital following car-pedestrian accident
Hey Lawrence police - why don't you patrol Folks road! Cars zip up and down this road 50 mph +. Hope this lady will be OK but our police need to do a better job of patrolling this road as it has been a speed problem for years (I know, I live off of this road) It is posted for 35 mph.

What grade would you give outgoing Lawrence School Board president Scott Morgan?
Arrogant and self serving - good riddance. Of course he fits the bill for a typical US senator.

Bond set at $500,000 for man accused in brutal attack on bike path
Yea, you are probably right. When these meth addicts are released the police should drive them to Charles Branson's neighborhood and release them there instead of downtown. Let these scum congregate in his neighborhood as well as the neighborhoods of the people that work for him. Things have to change as we can't continue to coddle these dirtbags and expect different results. Why do these undesirables land in Lawrence - because we don't do anything to move them along.
