Hundreds rally against closing SRS office

I heard a rumor that the employee's of the Lawrence SRS office are being told not to say anything about the closure. If they do they stand not being offered a job to another SRS office. The deadline is everyone within the SRS office will be relocated to another office by October 1, 2011. Everyone don't be fooled the service that SRS gives isn't to deadbeats. Yes there are some and there will always be those who choose to take from the system but most are just looking to make sure their children can survive until they can make an income to support them. I am ashamed of the ones that say these people are deadbeats. Are we now becoming a state that doesn't care. The ones that are claiming these people are deadbeats then I hope one day your parents stop taking care of you and force you to go out into the real world or you lose your job and have to have medical coverage for your children so that you can afford to make sure they are not in the hospital every other day. You guys are fools.

About 150 attend meeting on SRS closure

The governor isn't out of touch with the real world. He knows what is going on and he is going to change it no matter what. It was the dumbest thing the people of Kansas did when they elected him to office. I didn't vote for him so I can say this. The governor has an agenda and if you are not part of his lackey group then you will not benefit from it. So 99.9% of Kansans are at risk.

Eudora mayor asking Brownback to install median cable barriers after deadly crash on K-10

I believe the only way the insanity is going to stop is the drivers on K-10 stop being stupid. Law enforcement needs to be out there more and stop traffic even if it is rush hour. Make some wait if it keeps our children safe. I have driven K-10 for over 10 years and people driving this highway are dangerous and that means about 95% of them. If they start stopping them and writing tickets no just giving warnings we could afford to have the cables installed ourselves instead of asking Sam Brownback to do anything outside is agenda. He doesn't care about Kansans and never will. Going to him is a waste of time. Again Law Enforcement needs to be out on the highway doing the job we pay them for. Running a speed trap a couple of days after this accident is not something I would say is a good start. Doing it at least 2 or 3 times a week for life now that is the right thing to do. The law enforement only had the choice to do that this morning because of the outrage and people see what is or isn't going on out on that highway.
