Fear is the greatest motivator. Those that need, should be motivated by fear to try harder to reduce expenses and increase income. This is the only way to escape financial challenges. Counting on taxpayer / government assistance is only a drug that allows a person to escape this undeniable truth.

Sound Off: There are two cabins at Clinton Lake State Park. Can they be rented?
Corps of Engineer lakes have been constructed for flood control not recreation. It is impossible to have Lake of the Ozarks type of development at a flood control lake.Permanent structures below the established flood stage are mostly limited to latrines, roads, boat ramps etc. Permits for private boat docks have been available at some CoE lakes however most permit holders find the expense of maintaining a dock at these lakes to be excessive due to the extreme changes in the water level. Recreation is a secondary concern for the CoE.
