Do you think the Kansas City Royals will improve this year?

Ever the optimist, I think the Royals will improve this year. They got better on paper in every facet of the game with their offseason acquisitions, offensively, defensively, starting pitching, and the bullpen. We'll see if that equates to more than 56 victories, but I think it will.

It was good to see Elarton and Dessens get a strong start.

I think the real Royals' offensive future is down here in my neck of the woods with Alex Gordon, Billy Butler, Mitch Maier, and co. The Royals pitching prospects look pretty slim, though.

Why do you think the population of Kansas has become so much older?

I think perevious posters have pretty much summed up why Kansas is generally becoming gray.

Camping in the Flint Hills can be an incredibly spiritual experience. The sunsets and sunrises are amazing, and the night sky is nothing but spectacular.

Elk City Lake and State Park in Southeast Kansas, Montgomery County, I think, is a nice road trip, too. Lots of neat hiking trails and scenery.

What is your favorite type of Girl Scout cookie?

Isn't unhealty a requirement of any good cookie?

My favorite used to be Dos-i-dos, but I think they've been discontinued.

Police captain's daughter admits to knowledge of money laundering

I had no idea there was a law making it an affirmative duty to report felonies. Very interesting.

Police captain's daughter admits to knowledge of money laundering

I searched through the Kansas statutes twice (electronically), and can't find the term "misprision" anywhere. That's why I presume she's being charged under the above law.

Police captain's daughter admits to knowledge of money laundering

Looks like the link only gets you to the Kansas legislature's statute search page. Once you're there, enter K.S.A. 65-4142 and it will bring up the full text of the statute.

Police captain's daughter admits to knowledge of money laundering

I've tried to provide a link to the law under which I surmise the defendant is being charged. Hopefully, it works.

Without knowing all of the facts, it's difficult to know for sure, but my guess is that K.S.A. 65-4142(e)(2) makes the defendant's conduct a drug severity level 3 felony.

What is your opinion of Valentine's Day?

I'm not the most technologically savvy poster, obviously. I've posted links before, but didn't think this one would work. Hope I didn't cause too many headaches.

We'll see if the LJW Staff will accept my suggested removal. Never figured I would suggest removing any posts, and definitely not my own.
