City of Lawrence begins using new automated trash truck
Will they not be able to pick up any larger trash that doesn't fit in the can and has to be set beside the can? i.e. a large box that won't fold down to fit... I assume this will be an issue even if it's the recycling truck, as they will be the same thing. Is the driver going to have to run out and grab the bags set by the side of trash cans that I still see around town?

What is a meal or a food that you think captures the essence of summer and why?
Watermelon, tomatoes and a big ole' juicy steak cooked over charcoal!

Town Talk: Retail sales in Lawrence up by more than 4 percent for year; are major changes on tap for the T?
My only problem with both of these options is that the speed doesn't touch the 50mb download with 250g usage that wow/knology does. Don't get me wrong, i'd do anything to have sunflower back and want to drop wow/knology so bad, but there is no good alternative.
Uverse only gets 24mb download max (half the speed for only 10 dollars less) and freenet is only 10mb. These are fine if you don't stream movies online or play online games. There really is no comparison right now when it comes to internet.

Does anyone know which of the concepts was approved? The one for it going along 31st, 32nd, 35th, 38th, or 42nd?

Graduates saddled with student loans may pay dearly for decades to come
The unfortunate thing is that a lot of students would not even be able to afford college without these guaranteed student loans. I, for one, am one of those people. If I didn't have access to student loans I would never be able to go back to college. I realize how much debt I am getting myself into. It's much better to go to college with a specific goal for a degree than just getting a general lib arts degree which might or not not land you a job.

Town Talk: Something spooky coming to vacant Borders store; comedy, bum steers and elastic waistbands at 19th and Haskell; another big fight looming near the airport
+10
I feel the same. Walking around the big halloween stores gives us inspiration for our yearly halloween haunted yard. I was hoping something like this would come to town since the Spirit store's previous location is now occupied. At least I don't have to drive to KC for our halloween shopping fix!
