Republican Kevin Yoder plans run for U.S. House seat occupied by Democrat Dennis Moore

Let me see if I got this right. There are RINOS, DINOS, NEOCONS, MODS, CONSERVATIVES, SOCIALIST OR PROGRESSIVE DEMS. There are centrists and liberals. We are right or left. Are there any other labels? And why are these labels not called universals?

Maybe it would help us put these labels into context by discussing the issues instead of a broad sweep of some label to an candidate.

In regard to Yoder, I was a KYD and delegate, as well as a caucus parlimentarian. Then, I joined the GOP.

What Yoder and I call what we do, is being a leader. Try that label. Then, ask what label do you apply to yourself when you blog about what the rest of us leaders are. So we all know.

Democrat David Haley considering a run for U.S. House seat held by Dennis Moore

Come on in Senator Haley. Might as well join the rest of us.

Wonder when Reardon is going to file with the FEC? Or Carol Marinovinch. I would suggest she run. Since no sane democrat wants to run in the 3rd this election cycle. And I actually like Carol.

I merely wonder why Joe Reardon won't return my phone calls for the last 3 weeks. What is he afraid of? Does he need some help in filing out those FEC forms? Maybe he needs a GOP person on his staff that knows how to fill them forms out.

Oh yeah Senator, your staff aide has not called me back regarding my giving testimony on that racial profiling committee hearing you are chairing pertaining to why law enforcement officers are not anthropologists and should stop guessing what our "race" is based on our skin color in violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Kansas Act Against Discrimination. I just want to be called an American like the rest of us. Instead of law enforcement violating both federal and state laws on the uniform ticket citation used here in Kansas. Why won't the Kansas Highway Patrol let us decide our "race"?

Give me a call. I want to be there.

Lightner to seek Republican nomination for Moore's 3rd District seat

Life, liberty and pursuit of happiness is the backbone of our nation. Especially, individual liberty. I merely wonder how that tranlates to helping the voters and non-voters of Douglas Co. and the city of Lawrence?

As one of the other candidates for Congress for the 3rd District, I like being a little more specific related to my own campaign for U.S. Congress.

Sebelius' budget plan would slash millions from higher education

If you can't figure what, you deserve the increase in tuition and fees.

Sebelius' budget plan would slash millions from higher education

KU students and their parents need to be organized; independent of the student government body to advocate on their behalf without fear of retribution by the administration. Why does the student government body not demand such a thing to advocate on behalf of the student body collectively. There has to be a check and balance against KU and the KS Board of Regents from doing whatever they feel like. They currently are unchecked and no student or parent can do much as individuals.

Sebelius' budget plan would slash millions from higher education

KU has doubled tuition the prior 5 yrs per LJWorld. For FY09, tuition and fees are increasing by 8.1%. The biggest reason-KU Endowment Fund lost 471 million playing the stock market. KU students and their parents need to organize and protest tuition and fee increases like this. As well as demand endowment funds are distributed to the students instead of allowing KU Endowment to lose any more playing the stock market.

U.S. Rep. Dennis Moore chats with local citizens

Congressman Moore is very good at campaigning. He is not very good at sponsoring or co-sponsoring legislation. In Washington, he has very little power so he spends most of his time here in Kansas attending public events instead of working in Washington. This local public exposure helps him in being relected. But his job is supposed to be working in DC-not attendling local public events. His voting record is dismal. His major campaign contributors generally include mostly bankers, lawyers, real estate people and those connected with the NEA. Moore is anti-union and very supportive of globalization. Go to www.fec.gov and check his major contributors. Some commend some of his staff for resolving minor issues with federal agencies. Moore has a huge staff turnover which indicates that he is not a very good manager of people. In addition, his staff are not bringing any changes proactively that benefit all of us. His staff is mainly reactive. What most do not realize is that Moore gets about a million a year to staff his congressional offices. So, any person elected to his congressional seat also would get the million a year to staff offices. So, if I gave you or anyone else a million dollars like he gets, I would have a huge advantage in getting re-elected. Which makes it difficult for challengers are they do not have that same million dollar staff. This upcoming November election, the electors have to pick between Moore and his opponent Jordan. Based on my experiences, I would rather see Moore re-elected as compared to Nick Jordan. Despite Moore-s lack of power in DC. Even though neither candidate promises much of anything. Moore is pro-choice-Jordan is pro-life. I personally will keep campaigning against Moore for the 2010 election cycle because the 3rd Congressional District needs better and more effective representation. And Jordan is not the answer. There is good news. The Bush administration is finally leaving. So some of the angst in America that prompted me to run in the first place should be taken care of with John McCain as our next president.Hopefully, in 2010, their will be better choices come election time. As far as Windlass and the others who did participate, thanks for caring enough to get invovled.

U.S. Rep. Dennis Moore chats with local citizens

Mr. Moore is a liberal pro-choice congressman that only brought federal appropriations back to KS a pitiful of 7.3 million. While Boyda brought back 38 million. Good for Boyda, Ask Moore why. Go to www.congress.org to verify.,He also stated in the chat session how disturbed he is by the federal deficit he is responsible for. Moore has no clue what fiscal conservatism means. Finally, Moore once again does not state anything he will do. Rest assured, the only thing he will do as a congressman is continue to constantly campaign instead of getting KS's fair share of federal appropriations or sponsoring any meaningful legislation. The chat session was merely Moore rhetoric..

Abortion charges again rejected

Phill Kline, former radio d-jay should return to radio. He is great at talking a lot, but not much in reality worth any recognition.

I suggest we now refer to him as the Johson County D-JAY, instead of JOCO DA. Besides, we all know Eric Rucker will really be the new DA, so he can tell Kline exactly what it is, a DA does.
