Senate Republicans approve sales tax increase, cuts in income tax rates, lower food sales tax
The plan approved by the Senate is excellent. Sales taxes should be 10% and all income tax eliminated. Property taxes should be capped. The more people that pay taxes and see the government benefits come at a cost, the better off everyone is.

Long-term plan suggests toll lanes on K-10 corridor
All roads in Kansas like k10 including all of the interstates should be toll. As gas taxes decline it will be the only way to pay for them.

House Republican leaders propose 1.5 percent cut to higher education for each of next two fiscal years
KU can ask donors for money and easily make up the difference in state funding. I would start with increasing the licensing fees for sports and add $100 surcharge on season tickets for low income educational scholarships. Maybe make that $1000.00

KU makes sudden change in Statehouse presence
KU has almost no goodwill at the Statehouse outside of local reps. This is the fruit of years of one party support.

Affordable Care Act bringing jobs to Lawrence
At least I know where to protest. Looks like simple patronage to the only blue area in the state.
