Welcome, Roy
While I thought it was a nice gesture by Roy to wear the sticker and support the Jayhawks, I dont think we need to "formally" invite him back. Lets not make it that big of a deal. He is welcome to come back whenever he likes - some may react positively to that, some may not. An official "Welcome back, Roy" seems a bit over the top.

Fitness club members criticize tree with Birthright message
When my daughter (who is 5) asked what the tree was, I happily took one of the babies off the tree and told her, "Look, isnt this neat? This is how you looked when you were in my belly. So little!"
As 5 year olds do, she seemed interested for maybe a minute - tops. No permanent damage done, suffice it to say.
I have no idea why a conversation with a child about this tree has to turn into something more than it is - something so "uncomfortable." You tell them the truth. Its a baby. Is that difficult to explain? Shouldnt be.

Agreement on teacher pay 'a long way apart'
Negotiations have gotten us nowhere. In the meantime, teachers pay MORE for health insurance and receive LESS in pay. Paychecks - take home pay - are going DOWN, not UP. Absolutely ridiculous. For the third year in a row. Sick and tired of this teacher negotiation BS. Get these people the salary they deserve - they are supporting their familes on these pathetic salaries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
