New entrance to KU Central District up for city vote

I understand why you don't want this. What I don't understand is why you are surprised this is happening. You live in a college town in a neighborhood that is right across the street from KU property.

City wants further review of proposed rental registration and inspection program

That's great about 7th and Alabama...part of the problem was the parents at Little Red School house parking too close to the corners of the street , blocking the view from the east/west lane on seventh....but there is a lot of walking traffic headed to Pinckney from that street too....the signs will be a welcome addition to that neighborhood.

Nearly 200 cited or arrested by special police detail working college party crowds

"That's the pulse that I sense," Tetwiler said. "They are an easy target for fines and citations."
That's right buddy. You've got your finger on the pulse. They are an easy target because they are presenting themselves that way. Being that you are the student body president, I commend you for defending your fellow classmates....but some things are not defendable when they are blatantly breaking the law. Downtown, and the city in general, is for everyone's enjoyment. If you want to act outside of the law, expect to be punished. The law does go around here, lawdog.
