Half Price Books to close Lawrence store in coming months

Thank you, overthemoon, replies a Half Price employee! And yes, there are very unpleasant customers. Our staff believes strongly in customer service and always have, but at times a customer can make what should be a pleasant experience, NOT! It is very sad for the Lawrence community to loose another bookstore or any store for that matter. We forget we are a small town and must spend a few dollars locally to make our favorite places survive. Please think of those who are here and take time to promote and visit them regularly.

Sick and tired of the waiting game

I am not being mean, but this article really bothered me! First of all, if you didn't weigh 300 lbs. you wouldn't have all the health issues, that's a given. And the junkyard you need is the one to dump all of your excess stuff into! If you can afford all that stuff, you can surely afford to take better care of yourself. If you spent your money on better foods, fruits and vegetables, you might start to loose some weight. And if you did just the slightest exercise, you might feel better. You could beat ALL those diseases if you really wanted to. There are people who really do need assistance. Obese folks, take some responsibility for your own health! (ps, you won't)

BTW, ljworld, poor front page article!

'Little libraries' put books up for sharing

Love this!! Check out Half Price Books on 23rd Street. They have $1 books that would be great to fill these little houses. Might have to put one in my neighborhood!!

Have only used Catherine and she is awesome! Her husband is also a masseuse and he's probably just as good. Her hands are very strong and for her small size she has great strength. She also used hot stones on my neck and back. Their rates are extremely reasonable, first timers $34.50! You can't go wrong at that price. Give her a try, you won't be sorry!

Always the right price at Half Price Books

I am a huge fan of Half Price Books! They do have new books, just ask where they are. What I really like is they will put you on a list and call you when a book comes in that you are looking for. I use this and can usually get a bestseller within a weeks time. Worth it because its half the retail price. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
