As a dedicated KU alum, I have to say that this decision is an embarrassment for the University. Coaches prove themselves by winning, and there are a lot of young WINNING coaches out there. Turner Gill is not one of them. His record deserves little respect, let alone this coaching position.
Mangino had a lot of problems (and it's probably right that he's gone), but like it or not, he positioned the program for better things. With this truly bad choice, the promise of better things for the KU football program are out the window.
If KU if paying Gill more than $500,000/year, it's getting ripped off.
