GOP seeks to make state model for nation

Compassion for whom, precisely? The precious "taxpayer"?

Conservatives appear to be taking control of state Senate

Anyone bragging on Reagan can get out of my car. He was one of the five worst presidents in American history. His economic politics were pure madness, his escalation of the Cold War was idiotic, and he allowed his friends to loot the national treasury. This isn't even a matter of political ideology. Reagan was a BAD president. Period.

All their money would buy them nothing at all if people wouldn't vote for them. These views have support in Kansas. If you don't like them, you should move elsewhere. Leave Kansas to the crazies and the dust.

Wrong. You don't get to point at people who are the focus of hatred and call them bigots for not liking the people who hate them. You don't see gay activist groups protesting the funerals of Southern Baptists. You don't see homosexuals carving "STRAIGHT" into a Boy Scout's arm and leaving him for dead. You can't promote hate, violence and inequality against a group and then claim that group is bigoted toward you. And you 11 "likes" should be ashamed of yourself. No one cares what you believe, people care when you coerce the general society into reflecting your frightened worldview.

I very much hope that you are right. Very much.

I can't agree with you, busrider. I think the majority of voting Kansans are extreme, petty, short-sighted, and severely socially conservative. They care more about social issues than economic issues. You will NEVER convince them to vote Democrat and many of them prefer to vote for the most conservative candidate available. They abhor true education, they hate change... it's sad really, but they far outnumber everyone else.

Nope.

Oxford English Dictionary: n. an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization.
• (in general use) extreme right-wing, authoritarian, or intolerant views or practice.

“there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell of affecting policy in this state if you are not a member of the Republican Party.”

And this is one of the many reasons that Kansas is politically irrelevant. Scared + poorly educated = GOP votes.

People should move out of Kansas. There's a bigger, better world out there.
