Overland Park officer nominated for Franklin Co. Sheriff

If he were truly serious about a career in law enforcement he would grow a mustache.

City moving ahead with $24K study on how to improve broadband service in Lawrence; city agrees on contract with nonprofit to provide Internet service to City Hall; AT&T launches 4G network in Lawrence

It will be a few years before any of us see real 4G. There are currently no US carriers that have production networks that meet the ITU standard for 4G (IMT-Advanced). LTE comes close, but only in lab environments. The 4G term used by US carriers is a marketing term and not a technical term.

Federal officers make drug arrests in Douglas, Johnson counties; eight suspects are from Lawrence

I am glad that there are law enforcement officers willing to stand between me and these middle aged women peddling the devil's weed. I can finally get a good night's sleep tonight.

KU football’s GPA jump a 'big stinkin’ deal'

Most people would pick Elizabeth I or Henry VIII as their favorite Tudor but I would have to go with Mary just because she has an incredible drink named for her.

City gives preliminary approval of incentives for new Ninth and New Hampshire building

Finally, we have elected officials who are willing to do what's right for the rich. I think it is ridiculous to expect developers to invest their own money when public money is available.
