legal if services are not in your name and you dont pay your rent. and you give proper notice. you dont get the proper details you wont get the proper answer. this is all legal. all leases state what will happen if you dont pay rent. if you cant get your electric in your name that is your problem. i guess that is why your living there to start with.

you dont even know a thing. maybe when you know the details you can say shame. but rex has nothing to be ashamed for. he is a good man. the city is the one that should be ashamed for once again putting families out in the street just like the north side trailer court. this town is so judgemental it is ridiculous.

thank you. the tenants are dirty and you should see the way people treat him. give me a break. it is not a cake walk dealing with the tenants he deals with. he has a big heart. without him there would be alot more homeless in lawrence. straighten up people give him a break. help him out if you give a crap. stop judging. before you put people in the cold. the shelter is already packed. come on.

because it is not the tenants that choose to live there causing the problems. it is the ones that get evicted. get it?

you cannot control the crime in any area, the call volume in the last three years has dropped percent from the police department. rex tries to give everyone a chance, second chance renting. he stopped that about sometime last year. he has increased rent and tried to review rentals more intensly, not letting just anyone in. he sometimes has to evict people and they cant handle it. he has a reputation for being a push over. in the last year that has changed. he has been more assertive about the tenants, making sure rent is paid, and watching for police interaction. yes, there is always problems with employment at any business and sometimes he has to make changes just like at any business. but change takes time. as far as all the complaints from former tenants, the had no problem living in the building for free when the could not pay rent. the minute rex has to pay to go file to evict them the call the city and try to cause him as many problems as possible. is that fair to a man that extends his hand to a family that has no where to go to do this to him. he never claimed to be perfect, but to go and put his tenants in the street and not give him time to fix is unfair. no one knows what it is like to live there, deal with this type of clientel and deal with these people, until you do, you dont have the right to judge rex. he is a good man.

The Court 26 Apartments building located at 1821 W. 26th St. has been condemned by city inspectors b

the landlord was sure good enough when they needed a place to live and they had nowhere to live or needed and extention on their rent. but when he as to put his foot down and make decisions he doesnt want to make they turn to the city and this is what happens. it sure is a pity that the city allows this type of hate to happen. the landlord tries with the tenants to keep them out of the street and a roof over their head. this enviornment is good enough as long as the landlord does not give them no problems and allows them to do what ever they want. but if he puts his foot down, here comes the city. not fair, not fair. what about the landlord? he is a good man, extends his hand and gets it cut off. what kind of world are we living in that the city would allow a landlord to be hurt by the action of tenants that wont pay rent. you can condemn this place or that place all over town. look at yourself and look around. another place condemned like the trailer court in north lawerence, people hurt, homeless, families broken. i hope whoever like living there while they did not pay rent and then called it a bad place to live after words. shame on you. i know the owner is a good man and this is totally uncalled for. please support the owner of this property. not the tenants that did not pay their rent. god bless and love thy neighbor.
