Journal-World websites to require commenters to identify themselves

Let's see....microsoft, google, facebook, apple, yahoo, AOL and at least 43 internet companies track us, our cell phone provider track us -all part of the government PRISM network. The LJWorld teamed up with google with their little questions, now they request a facebook account. The bottom line: No dissent is allowed. I've already had comments removed for reasons unknown (other than perhaps a conservative take on an issue, or calling one of Lawrence's many kooks a kook, pointing out a blatantly biased job of reporting, or my attempt at humor). Freedom of speech as a whole in this country is going the way of the Dodo bird.

Rest easy powers that be. This sometime dissenter is gone......poof!

Letter: Hate speech

It used to be that journalists tried to be unbiased. Since the professor is teaching future journalists, shouldn't he refrain from making political statements? It is bad enough to pick out the editorialized articles that are considered legitimate news, when they should really be on the editorial page. This applies to the majority of news reporting everywhere.

Bicylist injured after colliding with vehicle on East 23rd Street

What's up with the right hand lane of Lawrence Avenue north of 6th Street converted to a large bicycle lane? I never see anyone riding on there, and can a car drive onto one if they're turning right? That goes for Princeton as well. What is the cost/benefit analysis of all the huge and nice concrete bicycle sidewalks down Clinton Parkway that some refuse to use for their bicycle and prefer the cheap asphalt and dangerous street instead? It seems Lawrence spends an extraordinary amount of money for bicyclists that hardly any bicyclist use.

Guth's tweet puts him in middle of political firestorm

It isn't what he said, it's when he said it. On September 16, at 2:52 pm the professor tweeted his message. Was he working when he tweeted or was he off the clock? That would be key.
