Lawrence resident pleads guilty to organizing $16M drug trafficking ring

I'm trying to figure out where in this story it said he was a carpet cleaner, because I clearly read owned and operated a carpet cleaning business. And the woman pled guilty to money laundering, using the bank accounts of her "legitimate salon". I'm not sure I see what your point is in this rant.

Woman’s murder conviction expunged

I have a hard time understanding this. Someone convicted of murder having their record expunged. Even if she was just assisting someone with their suicide, I think it should be known that she is capable of doing such a thing. I know I couldn't have killed anyone like that for any reason......

Do you support Kansas’ indoor smoking ban?

As a smoker, yeah I wish I could smoke inside. As a mother, and the girlfriend of someone who can't be around smoke I understand the need for the ban.

Call center expanding into former outlet mall

How exactly do they fool you into thinking that? Because you assume that is who you are talking to because you have failed to read what is posted on the site? You failed to read the top of the page that says "We are not affiliated with the Dept of Education". It is amazing how many people are so negative all because they cannot take one minute to read everything.

Call center expanding into former outlet mall

And why wouldn't you read everything? I for one never go to any website and put in my personal information before I have read everything I can first. And maybe if one is distracted by pretty colors, they shouldn't be filling ANYTHING out online. Goodness, imagine what you could get people to sign over to you if the colors were just right on your website.

Call center expanding into former outlet mall

It seems to me, as I just looked at the website, is that the only people who would be upset by this service, or feel scammed, are the people who did not take the time to look through the website before jumping in. In less than a minute I saw the fee, the fact that they are not affiliated with the Dept of Education and a link that showed me where I could get it done free. I also saw a box that states that you can do your own filing for FREE at fasfa.ed.gov. So I'm lost at how anyone could be confused or misled by this website. If you are being tricked, it's because you tricked yourself. And you could find negative things about any company if you look for them. Every company can not please everyone.

Nothing suspicious found after bomb threat at Free State; classes to resume on Friday

Like you, if anything happened at LHS my daughter would contact me way before the school ever could. And she would be ok, I know that.

I was wondering the same thing myself. Why would they keep you in the building? That does seem like a very bad plan.
