They are knowledgeable, and they are very caring and respectful to the animals. We started going there because my dog adores Dr. Heeb, but all of the vets there are good. Pricing is also reasonable.

Lawrence school board balks at wellness campus

Merrill, take a look at the amount of land that has already been donated by John McGrew and the others to the city. Take, for example, the Conrad and Viola McGrew Nature Preserve and the Pat Dawson-Billings Nature Area. This town owes these loyal Lawrencians at least some consideration and appreciation for their ideas.

Another downtown property owner expresses concerns about late-night food cart operations

Let him put his cart up, Lawrence. Competition in business is one of America's tenents, and tons of other cities have them. Let's not fall behind and cheat people out of choice.

Wow, that's great! I'm glad we have someone from Lawrence representing us. Good luck...bring home at least 4 golds!

Lawrence police arrest man on suspicion of animal cruelty, sodomy

People who abuse animals are just sick. Especially this type of abuse. Who can really get pleasure from torturing a poor, trusting dog to death? We've created a world where dogs are forced to be dependent on our care to survive. They lovingly accept that, trust us, defend us, and then some people betray them like this? To the people who adopt their pets out on Craig's List, be more careful!

‘Scramble’ draws hundreds to Tonganoxie for squirrel-hunting contest

I agree with Waka1. I know for a fact a prize goes to the person who kills the smallest squirrel! I'm so glad people get fun out of killing baby squirrels and Tonganoxie is backward enough to encourage it. Also, cutting their tails off to use as fishing lures? How barbaric!

Prefabricated units arrive in Greensburg

I think you all are missing the boat here. It's not about whether Lawrence would have taken the building. It's about the students in Studio 804 specifically wanting to put it in Greensburg, and building it for that purpose. At least if Greensburg is rebuilding, it is choosing to take the opportunity to make itself better by having environmentally friendly building requirements and including an arts center to increase arts education. By the way, the town is NOT rebuilt yet.
