Former VP candidate Ryan to appear in Kansas for Brownback fundraiser

Why does Brownback need fundraisers? Have the Koch brothers gone broke?

Jenkins meets with diverse groups during recess tour of her district

Interesting how her concern jumped once sshe had a confirmed opponent. Not that I'm being cynical or anything...

Her robocalls annoty the heck out of me. If she remembered Kansas at all, she'd know that WE DON'T LIKE PHONE CALLS DURING THE DINNER HOUR! To do it consistently shows just how much respect she has for the foks back home.

Two legislators will file bill to change proof-of-citizenship requirement for voters

Yes, you have to. It's because insurance fraud is the fastest-growing form of identity theft. I've had it asked for at every clinic or medical office I've been to.

Brownback appoints his chief counsel, Caleb Stegall, to the Kansas Court of Appeals

The fact that Steagall couldn't cut the mustard under independent scrutiny, and everyone knew he'd be nominated despite that, and the delay of the sham "interview" process until just before the rubber-stamp legislature comes back, is just another act in the same play--Brownback Thumbs His Nose at Kansas.

The unlimited, disgusting gall of the man.

Democrats plan strategies to take on Brownback, Kobach and others

ajr--Kobach is NOT the only Republican who can be defeated. There are plenty of legislators who could be sent home if people just showed up to vote. Sam couldn't get away with all this garbage without the wingnuts in the Legislature.

SOOOO--if all the people who are complaining about Brownback would vote against him and his minions, we could stop the nonsense. Too many peoploe sitting on their duffs is how we got this crowd in the first place.

Brownback tells regents that cuts to higher education were part of trades at end of session

Notice how Brownback didn't specify just what he traded for the higher education cuts. He knows perfectly well what he did, but doesn't want to be the bad guy. His tour of universities was a smoke screen, and everyone knows it. Bet he was shocked, SHOCKED, to have to accept those cuts to public education.

What a liar.

Brownback's budget director Anderson resigns

A nuttier "true believer" you'd be hard-pressed to find. This guy has blinders to anything other than the rich, Koch-brother, ALEC-believing plutocrats. His superior attitude toward the lesser beings was well known. Which is why it's strange that Brownback is letting him go.

ALEC meeting draws Kansas legislators

Perhaps the claim to help legislators represent their constituents was actually quite enlightening. Those legislators may only consider the ultrarich ultraconservatives to be their only worthy constituents. Freudian slip, perhaps?

Opinion: Obama steps into race debate

Cal Thomas can twist anything into an attack on Obama. A rich white man in his ivory tower who not only has no idea of what the president meant or why he said it, but he doesn't care to find out.

Not everyone lives in the close-minded world of superiority of Cal and his ilk. Here's an example of what happens all too often, from the Kansas City Star:

Dozens speak against Westar Energy's proposed rate increase and plan to 're-balance' rates

Sounds like the Brownback version of "fair and balanced", i.e. stick it to the little guy.
