Camping out in cold worth it to KU students for free burritos for a year
I wonder how much Freebirds paid these guys for their publicity stunt? Because this was obviously some staged P.R. B.S.

Varsity House being disassembled to allow for construction of apartment building
I wish someone would "dismantle" Fritzel. He and Compton both need to go.

Kansans for No Income Tax hit the road to spread message of abolishing state income tax
I stumbled upon this today by accident. "35 people" is a generous estimate-- my head count was 19, including the folks who came on the bus. Obviously an issue with a huge groundswell of public support! Of course, Brownbutt will instate it, regardless, as a gladhand to the Billionaire Boys Club.

Town Talk: Bikes and books and, oh my, doughnuts at Ninth and Mass.?; city to consider building public parking lot at Poehler building; Compton's incentives requests still in limbo
Keep big box crap like Old Navy out of downtown. And Compton is already cramming a "health club" into his stupid project on Vermont.
I do love the Raven, though. And rent downtown IS too high-- why there aren't rent controls in place is beyond me.

I was serious about a sex shop. Why did that get deleted? I don't mean a shop where you have sex, duh. Other big towns have them integrated with the rest of their city. Aren't we supposed to be a liberal, progressive-minded, up-and-coming metropolis? Or are we just another small Kansas town with a backward attitude towards healthy, adult recreation? Christ.
Practice your DELETE button on some of those jerks who badmouth murder and accident victims for a change instead of using it to impede actual discourse.

This is supposed to be about our ideas for downtown. Stop getting off subject just to be snarky. Save that crap for Reddit.

The Varsity, which was good, and unable to be replaced.

Also, a magazine/ news stand would be great. And a grocery store, obviously. These are probably more important than an effing movie theater.
