Conservatives appear to be taking control of state Senate

The article left out numerous other problems with the Brownbackian agenda. Schools will take out science again and put in Brownbackian, Kochian Christianity, mental health and social service cuts will be preserved due to not allowing the health care reform money to come into the state. Coal fired plants and pipelines and gas wells will be going strong, which will further endaner climate change and additionally weaken our water supply and add to our health problems. Corporate welfare will be at an all time high, so the billionaires will grow fatter on our commonwealth, while the rest of us go begging. Americans and Kansans better wake up. Our democracy has been trashed and the more power we hand over to the corporations and the billionaires, the more they will make us pay for it. Better wake up soon or the options continue to get worse. Doom and gloom, you say. Yes, and it is real.

Brownback says tax cuts will help the economy; critics say it will damage Kansas

Money spent on education and social services saves far more than it costs. If that wasn't a fact, in truth, we would never have spent money for those investments. When we don't spend money to invest in our citizens, we end up spending more on the chaos, law enforcement, prisons, jails, court costs. loss of tax revenue, loss of consumer spending for small businesses and services and on and on it goes. This has already been proven scientifically, over and over. Of course, it has also been proven scientifically, that republicans don't accept scientific findings. Tea party repubs, like Brownback are destroying our economy. Small businesses can't hire now. Big businesses won't hire, because they are already making enough money and if the government lays off people, then that just means more people will join the unemployment lines as long as they last. After that, we can watch the homeless and hungry grow. That is actually what we saw when Reagan was in office. I remember. Clinton brought the economy back, after Reagan ran up the debt and put people out of work.

Corporate-funded ALEC has strong ties to Kansas Legislature

Wow, I hope this was stated in pure sarcasm. If not, it should be.

She took some heat for being in favor of the coal fired plant. She decided to back off then. That is what we call democracy. Try getting that result with Brownback or any repub for that matter. Look at Scott Walker. He will go down fighting all the way. He doesn't care what the people want. He only answers to the Koch brothers.

Soros, the answer to all of the woes of the repub party, as if there was an answer. If you sukk, you sukk, and there isn't anything that can be done about that. Time to give it up, wake up and get progressive, before it is too late.

Total right wing yellow "journalism." Amazing how these cottage presses get the attention of the hard up for news types.
