Authorities believe Lana-Leigh Bailey's body was moved to Osage County after killings in Ottawa
The death penalty is still law in Kansas, but if you look at how many times it has been implemented since it was reinstated, you'll know all you need to know. I'm not a death penalty proponent, but I can't feel help but feel that this monster is beyond hope.

Truancy policies can catch parents by surprise
Completely agree with the exception of doctor and dentists appointments. Not everyone can be scheduled before or after school. Those are excused though, as long as you let the school know.

Popular breakfast restaurant Milton's returning to downtown in space currently occupied by Loopy's
Considering what a pain it is to make homemade ravioli, I'd gladly pay $20. I mean, I won't, but I understand why it's expensive.

Topeka man injured in accidental shooting at Perry Lake
Uh, it says he was drinking, and decided to take apart his gun. Reading comprehension much, Groucho Marx?

Topeka man injured in accidental shooting at Perry Lake
"Hey guys, I have a great idea. I'm going to camp at the lake, get really drunk, and then, in the middle of the night, I'll just go ahead and try to take apart my handgun." Yep, sounds like a sound plan. I wonder if he said, "Hey, hold my beer!" before he got started. I'm not against guns or concealed carry, but irresponsible people like this should not have access to them.

3 Spoons Yogurt closes Lawrence store
We went to Three Spoons one time, and their frozen yogurt tasted like aspartame. We apprehensively tried Orange Leaf and were pleasantly surprised. Still, Three Spoons seemed like it did well.

Sound Off: Last Lawrence tornado
Yes, it destroyed a building at Aberdeen Apartments. The same building that was rebuilt, and then burned down due to a lightning strike. :S

Longtime employee Linda Lassen 1 of 2 laid off at Penn House on Friday
From what I know of Larry, he's a genuinely nice guy. As for Linda Lassen, I can't believe they wouldn't give such a well-regarded employee of 40 years the opportunity to retire at least unless they didn't want to pay benefits? Would she be able to collect benefits from there had she retired? I know where I WON'T be donating anymore.
