Brownback says state is returning to feds $31.5 million health care reform grant

Good job Fred! Makes a lot of sense! Oh, hold on . . . I pay federal taxes. Why shouldn't KS get some money back to help build a system we are going to have to deal with anyway. It will cost us more in the long term, and would have given the Gov. a real claim that he was creating jobs. BTW, it's not "free" it's our taxpaying dollars! Have a nice day Freddy!

Statehouse Live: Legislative committee seeks answers on SRS office closures

Well, first off no one from Lawrence is saying that we are special. Second, you don't add new positions and increase salaries when the legislature tells you to cut administratively!

Obama seeks to punish rich

I would like to have a 200 thou problem! I don't know anyone who is making 200 thou or 250 thou a family that's hurting. Please stop the craziness. The whole idea that these folks are suffering blows my mind. How many of you defending this nonesense make 200+ thou and is having a problem making it through these tough times? Probably, the same people who have health insurance and are complaining about having to have it by 2014! Doesn't make sense! Oh, BIG Government intruding into these poor people's life! Give me a break!

Tarik Khatib introduced as new Lawrence police chief

For all the haters, don't count Tarik short. He has already, as the interim chief, made some good changes. Remember that any change will take time. Also, I would rather be dealing with LPD than some of the other departments in the State. I am looking forward the the Chief Khatib era!
