Brownback announces $280 million in allotment cuts to fill budget shortfall

Oh, but Brownback referred to her as his "rock star." She is just as power hungry as he is.

Brownback announces $280 million in allotment cuts to fill budget shortfall

I don't want to sound mean, but how could anyone NOT know all this. It was in newspapers across the state, Paul Davis reiterated it over and over. Even Brownback made comments about this, and now he lies and says, "I didn't know." Don't buy into that crap. He knew, we knew, and it's too bad more voters didn't figure it out.

Letter: Have at it

The point is that the people of this state have not spoken. They didn't bother to vote, so we all have to live with what a few people decided. That a Republican governor can get only 50 plus percent of the votes of those who chose to do their civic duty does not speak well of the state nor of him. Perhaps stupid is the wrong word, but it's not far off. Unfortunately, we will have to deal with it, but we don't have to like it. And, by the way, who is Mr. Gruber?

Lawmakers worry KPERS may be target during revenue shortfall

I'm tired of all the small towns and rural areas getting the blame for Brownback. Yes, they elected him, but geez, look at Johnson County. People all over are not very well educated about politics or the Koch brothers.

Editorial: Experience counts

Neither does the Topeka Capital-Journal. It supports Brownback, but I understand that some since Brownback's wife is of the Stouffer family that once owned the paper. I think some members of that family might still have ties to the paper. The Journal-World tends to support Republicans no matter what. It might have been nice if the paper had just skipped supporting anyone rather than writing this bunk.

Editorial: Experience counts

I am not really surprised by the Journal-World publisher's stance since he supports Republicans no matter who else exists in politics. That the publisher calls for one political party to dominate both houses of Congress diminishes his opinions. What we need are lots of ideas that differ and people with those ideas to work together to find a common ground. I'm sick of people so narrow-minded they can only equate politics to some kind of game with two sides fighting it out. I think it smacks of low intelligence.

Democrat slams plan giving Kansas control of Medicare

Brownback wants the money in Kansas and under his control so he can "borrow" from it like he did the Kansas Transportation funds.
