59 minors, several local businesses, cited for alcohol violations in state regulator's patrols in May
Some stoned kid going 25 for a taco party pack does not worry me as much as the kid driving 65 down Kentucky!

Larry... I'm glad your the expert on underage drinking and how ABC enforces laws HOWEVER, you failed to show one statistic, one fact, chart, or anything to back up your point. You also don't understand that ABC has offices all over the state and more agents are assigned to higher risk areas such as I don't know...... A town with 30,000 kids at KU! Out of all the problems in the world (I know its hard to see issues outside of liberalville USA) this is the one that needs to be solved. ABC will now go to Quinter (no bar in town), Tribune (one, maybe), your your beloved Goodland for all the farm kids (who typically drink in fields because everyone knows everyone in small farm towns) who are drinking.

Apparently your blind to the 1000's of students Lawrence... They can check out the bar at Brandon Woods if that would suffice your needs.

Republican tax plans would increase state revenue, analyses say
Smart guy... If you buy a car out if state you don't pay taxes in that state! You pay taxes on the car when you get your tags! Thanks for proving how liberals think!

City commissioner wants state to revoke nightclub's liquor license
So you relating one if the most violent cities in the world to Lawrence where one bar has had two issues this year and no one killed? That's flying off the handle just a bit!

City accepts recreation center bids, but won' t proceed with building until Fritzel provides infrastructure costs
As I said in another article.. " not a fan of Lawrence politics..." The city accepted a low bid knowing that bid was a completely fabricated number made up just to get a contract without agreeing to or seeing final costs? I have only been here a few years but I believe I have finally figured out why Lawrence is ranked near the bottom in those surveys everyone enjoyed arguing about... The city needs to outsource one if those "experts" they are so good at hiring to review this and perhaps a doctor to remove heads from other places...

City commissioner wants state to revoke nightclub's liquor license
Hardly a fan of Lawrence politics but... BRAVO!!! These owners have known about MAJOR security issues for a long time and ignored them until two young men were shot... I know the intentions of the owners were good but they have failed to clean up the clientele! Hopefully something is done for the safety of the residents in that area. No one wants to see anyone killed.

Two men arrested in connection with Sunday morning shooting
Every response the person representing Magic posts is passing the blame and posting blogs about an apartment shooting years ago... I know that's all he could find but i fail to see the relevance of an apartment shooting and two separate gun incidents at Magic since Feb of this year! Also those two incidents both involved suspects from Topeka... It doesn't take a masters to connect the dots and see that this bar invites trouble, has refused to change even after the numerous issues Taste had, and to call out other bars is irresponsible when you consider that those bars don't have customers shooting each other, felons with firearms in the parking lot (referring to the incident earlier this year), or the history Taste and Magic have built in a very short amount of time... This is a safety issue! This is not a race issue! Bars are responsible for the actions of patrons both inside and out of the establishment, bars can be held responsible for over-serving someone and the actions of that person after they leave, and this bar has known of multiple issues before opening and after they opened and have ignored the issues until now... The representative for Magic who is posting has passed blame, "would discuss being only 21+", but so far is ignoring the fact that the bar has already proven its unwillingness to change...
