Lousy service! Didn't deliver all of my order, promised to fix it and, 4.5 hours and several phone calls later, still not fixed! All they care to give are excuses. They still owe me.

Child on bike hit by car at Sixth and Rockledge in critical but stable condition

Good gracious! We have crossing guards in quiet neighborhoods and kids crossing 6th alone with no adult supervision! What is wrong with people today?! Drivers have no consideration for others, children are not accompanied, busy streets are not monitored. This is a failure by everyone EXCEPT this small child who cannot be expected to know what he has not been taught or remember what he is too young to really comprehend. Schools, city commissioners, police, parents and drivers all share responsibility for this tragedy! Get it fixed and get it fixed now! May this never happen again!

No students hurt when Lawrence school bus, car collide

That is a horrible intersection. People are always running red lights right there.

Lawrence district cancels K12 Inc. contract

as a parent with the Lawrence Virtual School, I can tell you that the learning experience has been incredible for both of my children. My boys are not at the high school level yet, but the K-8 program is fantastic! It takes a big commitment from parents to make sure lessons are done each day, and we enjoy the time spent learning together. I truly do not believe that my children would have the academic success that they have enjoyed in a brick and mortar school. We have discovered problems that they face as well as the solutions to overcome them that would likely have been ignored in a setting of more than 5 or 10 children. Virtual Charter schools ARE worth everything that it takes to maintain them.

Paul Davis makes it official: He's running for governor

As an aside, it is possible to believe in God AND believe in science. The two are actually not mutually exclusive. Too many "Christians" have put that out there, and now others believe that they go together. Not so.

Measure banning "wrongful birth" claims approved by Kansas Senate

so. Doctors are going to attempt to be mind readers here? How does the Doctor know if a person would choose abortion or not? Having the information of a disability or any other issue BEFORE the child is born is very necessary to the parents who choose to raise this child. It is time to study, learn and prepare. It is time to buy a different house if necessary. It is time to properly prepare a child's space to meet his/her individual needs. It is time for parents to prepare their hearts and minds for the special trials that are to come. It is time for career changes to be made if necessary, budgets to be examined and help lined up. This bill removes this vital time from parents who need it. Why? Get your heads out of where they don't belong Republicans!

More snow on the way tonight; Lawrence schools, KU, others closed Friday

how is the clearing of the roads in Lawrence coming? I'm really hoping my husband will be able to navigate them to get home in awhile.

City officials working to pinpoint cause of odd odor, taste in drinking water; safety not a concern, they say

so very glad to live in east Lawrence. Water tastes and smells normal (not that normal is great, but is sounds like the water in other parts of town is VILE!).

Tax standoff

How can we fire Brownback? I really want a new gov. for Kansas. I'd really like to vote for someone with some measure of intelligence. Last time I checked, 10-10 does not = 20.
