Lawrence keeps options open for increasing water, sewer and trash rates

Charging for extra trash pick up should have happened a long time ago. You should get your one container and they only take that. If you want a second container, you should pay more per month. If you need a "large item" pickup there should be one or two free days a year so that extra staff can be on hand to accomodate. Otherwise, you should have to call for a special pickup and be charged accordingly.

I am disgusted every week when I see how much trash is put out for pick up. RECYCLE people!

Of course, then it is on to the discussion of curb side recycling run by the city with all of the profits from the recycled materials being used to fund the project. It can be done!

Who is correct about the amount of Kansas National Guard equipment available?

It looks as though the Kansas Emergency Management is married now with Homeland Security and so conversely to the Kansas National Guard. (Homeland Security: We are everything and nothing all at the same time.)

Oh and looky here...they ARE getting equipment from other "assets at their disposal" and doing the best that they can with what they have. Still while admitting that they don't have what they need.

KDOT is also using equipment clearing the roads of debris though so who knows how much they have to spare. How silly though right? Using the Department of Transportation equipment to clear the roadways?

Who is correct about the amount of Kansas National Guard equipment available?

The Gov has been complaining about the loss of equipment to the war long before this happened and Kansas isn't the only State with problems. No matter how the White House tries to spin this particular incident that fact isn't going away unless they take action. (and then it will still take years to replace the equipment) It is a ticking time bomb.

You'll note her efforts to get the equipment replaced here as well:

If she were a Republican they wouldn't be doing this to her. And part of me suspects that if she were a man she would be getting better treatment from the BushCo Bubba Network as well, but I really hope that isn't the case.

Getting use to it, but so far so good.

And yeah I dislike the "Anonymous" being where it is as well.

What is your favorite Elvis song?

You don't have to be sorry Sublime. Just because you don't like Johnny Cash doesn't mean we can't be friends. I will however taunt you about it whenever the mood catches me:)

What is your favorite Elvis song?

Dude. Dude. DOOD!!
Johnny Cash is the freakin' MAN IN BLACK! All of these other rockers in their all black are just bitin' on his scent.

And while I agree with the rest of your list I am gonna have to respectfully disagree both on our man in black and on Nirvana. I mean jumpin' jellyfish man....this is Nirvana we are talking about here. They led a musical movement, wrote the best lyrics of their time, had a totally kick drummer and lost a lead singer because he took himself out with a shot gun. You don't really get much more hard core then that. Well, maybe The Sex Pistols, but I digress.

I have never EVER once purchased an album of any of the others on that list though.
