Upstart Wolfpack next up for KU
I wonder if he'll even be eligible to sign--last I heard, the NCAA was making noises about his amateur status. Any update on that?

Town Talk: New 'med spa' business to open in West Lawrence; home sale numbers still lagging; Sister Cities trip to Greece in planning stages
So what is the deal with selecting Sister Cities that we don't even teach their languages in our schools? We dropped German (Eutin), we don't teach Japanese (Hiratsuka), nor Greek. We do teach French and Spanish in our schools. Anyone for a good French Sister City?

Knology to no longer provide 2 Topeka stations
It is good to have Topeka stations in the portfolio for watching weather updates in the spring/summer. KC stations are notoriously ignorant of Lawrence needs for updates when severe storms head our way. That was one reason that we dropped Uverse after a year (well besides the fact that they jacked up their rates massively).

Report recommends ways for city to fight ‘peak oil’
Peak Oil (real or imagined) isn't the source of future oil prices--regional conflicts and wars will be. When the bombs start falling on Iran and the Straits of Hormuz become difficult to navigate, the price of oil will skyrocket.
Too bad that the items called out in the article would take years (not months) to implement and won't really solve the need to move people from one place to another for work, shopping, etc. Simplistic solutions proposed for a complex problem.
