U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kan., foreground left, learned more about Kansas University’s literacy programs during a roundtable discussion Thursday at Pearson Hall on the KU campus. During the session, Roberts heard about KU’s programs at work in area schools. He shook hands with Don Deshler, special education professor and director of the KU Center for Research on Learning.
