Laird Forrest, assistant professor of pharmaceutical chemistry, works in stem cell research at the Simons Laboratories on Kansas University’s West Campus. He says a ban during the Bush administration on embryonic stem cell research has, “in its own backhanded way, been good because it has forced innovation in terms of looking at other stem cell systems.”
