Laura Ramberg works on a 900-pound block of cottonwood limestone in her rural Lawrence shop Monday, June 16, 2008. The sculpted stone is one of three pieces that Ramberg is completing for the Douglas County Courthouse, part of a multi-year restoration project to the 103-year-old building. Ramber and Oskaloosa stone carver Keith Middlemas are both sculpting new pieces to replace deteriorated stone sections.
